The Argentine peso is the national currency of Argentina. It is identified by the currency code ARS and is used exclusively within Argentina.
Travel Information for Argentina
The Argentine peso is the only official currency in Argentina. If you are planning a trip to this faraway country, we recommend preparing an amount of pesos in advance to cover your daily expenses during your stay.
If obtaining Argentine pesos is not possible before your departure, US dollars are widely accepted and may offer favorable exchange rates. However, the most convenient and cost-effective option remains the local currency – the Argentine peso.
